Rent-to-own with no BIK or KRD check? Why a purchase on preferential rent terms does not assess your creditworthiness

A huge card-index drawer pulled right out and completely empty inside
Quick answer

There is no BIK enquiry, no KRD check and no certificates from ZUS or the tax office. Buy&Rent is a car purchase on preferential rent terms: you sign the purchase agreement and the rental agreement, pay a deposit from 10 percent of the price that locks that price for the whole term, and drive for 2 to 18 months. What matters at the start is the deposit and the car itself, not your history in the registers. That does not mean we ignore anyone's situation — below we explain what this means in practice and where the limits of the model are.

What BIK and KRD actually are

BIK, the Credit Information Bureau (Biuro Informacji Kredytowej), operates under Article 105(4) of the Banking Law (Prawo bankowe) and collects data on loans from banks, credit unions (SKOK) and lending companies. Both positive and negative history lands there, on-time repayments just as much as delays. The entry is created automatically, at the moment the loan is granted.

KRD is a different thing. The National Debt Register (Krajowy Rejestr Długów) is a business information bureau, a database of overdue payments to which companies holding a contract with the register report what they are owed, from a phone operator to a repair shop. To report a consumer debt, three conditions have to be met at once: at least 200 zł, a minimum of 30 days overdue and a month since a payment demand carrying a warning about the entry. Signing an agreement generates nothing there. An entry comes from an unpaid bill.

Why rental involves no creditworthiness check

A bank lends you money and wants to estimate whether it will get it back. Hence the BIK enquiry, the review of registers and the folder of certificates.

With Buy&Rent nobody lends you money. The car stays ours for the whole rental period, you pay for using it, and the deposit from 10 percent that you pay at the start counts towards the purchase. The security is the car itself and that payment. Your history in the registers is not needed for anything, so we do not ask about it.

Will a rental agreement affect my creditworthiness

It does not reach BIK, because that register accepts data only from banks, credit unions (SKOK) and lending companies. Renting a car is a service, closer to a subscription than to a loan.

One caveat, to be straight about it: if you go to a bank for a mortgage during the rental, the analyst may count the rent as a fixed expense in your budget. It is not a credit obligation, but it can show up in the calculation.

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is not a last-chance offer for someone who cannot get financing anywhere else. It reaches two completely different groups.

You do not want another credit product. Usually because you are planning to buy a flat. A couple with an income of 15 thousand zloty net who are repaying a 1,000 zł loan installment will get roughly 128 thousand less on a mortgage. On top of that, a repaid car loan stays in BIK for up to five years more, if you consent to your data being processed after repayment.

You have the creditworthiness, you have simply had enough of the procedure. Certificates, statements, a decision from a scoring system, a week of waiting. Since July 2026 comparing offers alone no longer lowers your BIK score, so the old scare story about ruining your scoring has stopped working. What is left is the paperwork. With us there is an agreement, a deposit and collecting the car.

How this differs from “no BIK” offers

Companies advertising rental “with no BIK check” usually finance cars up to seven years old and write the agreement for 36 or 60 months. Platforms selling cars online, in turn, have new cars, except that their consumer leasing still ends with a credit history check.

With us you drive a car under an active warranty. Deposit from 10 percent, an agreement from 2 to 18 months, and we do not cap mileage. The rent is a 300 zł net administrative fee plus 10 percent a year on the remaining capital, and you repay the capital quarterly, so the rent falls with every quarter.

What the lack of a BIK check does not mean

You are signing a binding agreement and taking on an obligation. You pay the deposit, you pay the rent, and arrears are settled as under any other commercial agreement. What changes is the moment of entry: access to the car depends on your decision and your payment, not on points in somebody else's system.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you check BIK and KRD?

No. We do not assess creditworthiness, because rental is not a credit product.

Does a negative entry in a register rule me out?

There is no stage at which anyone here would check it. What counts is the car you choose and the deposit.

Do I have to provide a certificate of income?

No. We do not require certificates from the social insurance institution (ZUS) or from the tax office.

Will I pay more because there is no BIK check?

The cost depends on the car's price, the length of the rental and the deposit. The rent is calculated from the same formula for everyone: 300 zł net plus 10 percent a year on the remaining capital.
